Nasmyth, Alexander (died 1848), British anatomist and dentist. Nasmyth served as oral surgeon to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. In 1839, in an article on the structure and diseases of teeth, he described the cuticle of the dental enamel, now known as Nasmyth's membrane.
